Unit 17-P6

Reviewing the visual and special Effects footage for Strayed Above.

The footage was reviewed and the useable shots was marked down and unusable shots as well this was done on logged rushes document.
The 2nd part picture of logged rushes table
First picture and part of the logged rushes table
The final part and picture of the logged rushes.

This is done to pick out the best footage to place in the final product as well some footage may look the same but have a stand out features that might not be visible from the thumbnail or right in the beginning. As well it saves time as you don't have to look through a many footage to find one your looking for.

Below is unusable footage compared with the footage that was used in the final product.

This is a piece of footage of when Kyle Black finds Captain Crain to tell him what has happened. This Footage is not usable on many reasons such as both actors laugh and completely ruin the scene that was supposed to be shot and break character as well. As well The Director of this scene is heard Chante Cameron so this rushed footage is not usable and was not used in the final product. also the light reflects of the screen making it noticeable and taking the believability of the scene away.

Compare to the footage that was used here. The camera is in a different position which can set up the shot and when editing for a shot reverse shot between Kyle Black and Captain Crain. The actors do not break character which does not ruin the scene. The screen does not reflect the lighting that was used. This is a much better piece of footage than the unusable one.

This footage here was filming the ceiling for the opening scene. This is very similar to one used in the final product but slight differences make an unusable piece of footage. In the top middle of the frame My a piece of my hair is visible within the frame even tho small it does effect the whole shot as something small and visible will always be seen by the audience and since this is production meant to go on BBC 3 amateur mistakes should not be present. as well the footage is shakier and is not stable as the final piece of footage used as the chair we were using had to be adjusted slightly afterwards to avoid what was shown here.

This was used in the final product and it is different as the dolly shot is stable than the one shown before as well my hair is seen within the frame which now add to the believability of the intro of the show.  The chair was taken to slower pace as this was learned from the previous attempted which was shown before.
