Our Mood board for strayed above and underneath is the captions/annotations for them.  


Our mood board visually resembles the different types of atmospheric elements that will be featured in our Sci-Fi production of the teaser trailer and opening sequence of ‘Strayed Above’. This in particular includes images of planets, a flagship spaceship, a spaceship interior, a designated uniform for spaceship crew members, and a colour scheme to thematically represent the house style that we are aiming for overall. In the middle of our mood board, we present a large image of the Earth, which in context to our synopsis is indicative of the fact that Captain Crain and his crew have departed a corrupted Earth in order to find a new planet to reside on. The spaceship in the right hand bottom corner is supposed to be online image that will look similar to our finalised space ship design in terms of structure. The trajectory that the space ship is travelling towards in our image will be similar to the one we actually produce. As well as this, the interior design of our spaceship will structurally look similar to the one illustrated on our mood board. When addressing space outwear, like on our mood board, it will be a one-piece blue uniform that has a formal, extra-terrestrial aura. The overall colour scheme will consist of darker shades in the spectrum of blue, as dark blue colours are commonly associated with a space atmosphere. The other images include title sequences from the show Cleaning up we lied the idea of the SCI-FI elements around the opening sequence footage and would like to implement that within our final product.


Synopsis of the show.

Earth is in a dire state and is need of a new planet. Earth have sent out a crew to find a planet suitable for earth. Captain Crain is the captain of this crew. On his first day in the expedition Crain ship is hit by an unknown source killing half his crew and leaving 4 unconscious. Crain hurt gets up to see whats wrong and is met with a member of the crew who is Kyle Black. he explain what has happened and is panicked. Crain thinks of plan to fix the ship with only him and Kyle.

The marketing of Stayed above will include the opening sequence of the show as mentioned in the brief this will be displayed on adverts on the BBC 3 platform as trailers or short snippets or scene from the show saying Strayed Above coming soon. This will also be on other social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube this will entice the audience and will make them go onto the BBC 3 platform and search and watch the show. This will be done by placing the opening sequence onto twitter and youtube and this will allow viewers to share the content to others thus gaining attraction. The stills from the opening sequence can also be used as posters to be placed on Facebook with the opening sequence underneath to let the audience know who is playing who. D1-UNIT 3 RESUBMISSION

How meaning is created in Strayed Above The final media product is in line with client brief due to the visual and special effects. The visual effects applied which include creating a mask path around screens , windows as well as compositing footage to fit within a certain scale. The visual effects show the damage of the  infrastructure to the spaceship as the screens in the spaceship go dark or down meaning the signal has been lost or damaged as before it was working fine before the explosion. The special effects makeup used within the teaser scene as well show how the explosion of the ship has affected crew members such as Kyle Black and in which shows how life is on board the spaceship as communication systems have stopped working and the crew have taken damage. Unit 3 -M2

Resolving Legal and Ethical issues When creating this product legal and ethical issues have to be considered for. Such as the music for the show we cannot take a music track which is not royalty free as this is illegal. This will cause complications for the product which might halt the time of production and also might not be able to even screen the show if copyrighted music is heard without the use of a license. The plot and the story of the show can’t be taken from another SCI-FI show as well as this will be just copying ideas and would be stealing another IP’s content for our gain so we should be able to research and create our own ideas for the show while including the brief which was given towards us. The ethical issues that may arise is the use of our makeup since one of our actors is Muslim the use of proper gelatine will go against his beliefs and wouldn’t be allowed so a substitute gelatine will have to be used when creating our special effects.
